When you play real money roulette, always choose the European game, as you will improve your online roulette bets payouts. Gambling always favors the house, so why not reduce the casino’s advantage by playing the right game?

In this guide, you will learn how the roulette payouts work and more. Stick around.

At least recommended casinos also offer French roulette. The gambling game uses the same wheel as European roulette, though with house rules that benefit the player when the wheel falls on 0. There are two groups of bets – Outside Bets and Inside Bets in the game of online roulette. The names come from the bet’s positions on the layout of the table. Outside bets have a higher chance of winning, though much smaller payouts.

Inside bets have less probability of winning, though considerably bigger payouts. Check out the table that we’ve prepared for the percentages for every bet you can place on roulette.

Odds & Payouts for Outside Bets

Players who like to play it safe always prefer the outside bets. This is because they have better odds of winning. The most popular is known as ‘even money’ bets, as they cover much half of the possible outcomes – with the exception of the number zero

All of those wagers have a chance of winning close to 50%. To be exact, ‘even money’ bets have a 48.65% chance of winning in European roulette, and 47.37% in American roulette.

The other outside stakes are Column and Dozen; both cover 12 numbers on the table. This is roughly a third of all the possible outcomes, a little less because of the zero and double zero slots.

You can wager on the first, second, or third dozens of numbers (1-12, 13-24, 25-36) or on the first, second, or third column. The winning odds for those stakes are 32.43% in European roulette and 31.58% in the American version.

Odds & Payouts for Inside Bets

Inside bets include gaming on a single number or on a small group of them. There are several ways to group your numbers. Nonetheless, they are all related to the numbered positions on the table. As we mentioned, inside bets have lower winnings odds than outside ones, but their payouts are much better.

Straight is gambling on one specific number and is also called a single-number bet. Naturally, this stake has the lowest winning probability and the highest payout – 35:1. The chance of the ball landing in the specific pocket you bet on is 2.70% in European and 2.63% in American roulette.
